Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, primarily responsible for the monthly production of management accounts and for the managing and coaching of the Finance team.  A reasonable level of management experience is therefore required. The role also involves overseeing cash and banking responsibilities as well as general balance sheet reconciliation activities. Management of the month end P&L process, with wide Balance Sheet responsibilities. Other functions with include involvement with systems development, mentoring and assessing the performance of staff. Covering for the Financial Controller and Accounts staff as required. Would suit a qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with a high degree of industry specific leasing and asset finance accounting knowledge. Must have a strong ability to influence and negotiate with others.  

 

Financial & Management Accountant, Hampshire

Our client, the leasing division of a well-established Bank, are creating a new role with the individual to act as a dedicated resource in the reporting of the performance of their asset finance portfolio. Reporting into their Group Finance, in preparing management and statutory information for the Asset Finance Board. Lead the execution of accurate and timely completion of the month end processes. Take ownership of the general ledger, ensuring all journals posted are accurate and contain strong supporting documentation. Prepare monthly analytical reviews and prepare month end financial reports. Monitor the daily bank reconciliations, working with the business to ensure unreconciled items are investigated and cleared. Liaise with the Business to deliver annual forecasts. Prepare monthly analytical reviews on actual performance against forecasts, presenting to the Board at quarterly meetings. Assist the business with financial analysis and support the Group’s external audit. Liaise with and assist the business with developing new products, enhancing existing and the development of new systems. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) very much preferred, but may consider those not qualified but offering considerable lease accounting experience.

 

Financial Controller, South West London

Our client, part of a major European Bank, has a new requirement following an internal promotion. Seeking a qualified accountant with high degree of industry specific technical tax and accounting knowledge. The position reports into their Finance Director and encompasses the oversight of the Finance Department (team of 8) ,as well as providing technical accounting and tax advice to the business. Ensuring that appropriate controls exist  and that they are consistently and correctly applied. There is also a significant level of management and the FC is expected to effectively manage and encourage the development of the Finance staff. Deputising for the FD in his absence. Responsibilities also includes managing monthly reviews of the Balance Sheet and reconciliations, providing aged trending statistics, undertaking yearly compliance audits of vendors/introducers, and involvement with any systems development and upgrade projects.

 

Senior Financial Planning Analyst, Thames Valley

Our client is seeking an experienced candidate, with a professional accounting qualification, to join their UK team and assist in delivering their business plans, budgeting and forecasting. This is a newly created role to increase analysis capabilities, and requires strong numeric and analytical skills, as well as being an effective communicator. Review and report performance against budget plans and forecasts, making recommendations to ensure performance is enhanced and KPI’s are met. Must have the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex and technical issues. Undertake pricing and evaluation of leasing opportunities, and critically advise on contract settlements, rate calculations and structuring of transactions in support of business opportunities. Contribute to the decision making. Experience working within a complex/international organisation preferred.

We are regularly handling assignments for lessors seeking qualified (ACA or ACCA) accountants to undertake various important accounting roles. Requirements often come about following restructure and growth, and are likely to involve the preparation and monitoring of management information. Many are pan-European positions and applicants will be expected to take full responsibility for group statutory reporting. In such cases you will need to be aware of differing reporting and tax structures throughout Europe. Systems development and IT project experience can also be seen as a major benefit by certain prospective employers.
