Major lessor, seeking a Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with industry specific accounting knowledge. Reporting directly to their Financial Controller, working closely in managing and assisting in the development of the Finance Accounting team. Primarily responsible for ensuring that balance sheet reconciliations are carried out accurately and on a timely basis, with any non-clearing items investigated, cleared and reported. Needing a good understanding of the general ledger. Overseeing the analysis of key p&l line items such as; line-by-line income, termination income, secondary rental income, overheads etc. Posting all journals within the month end deadline. Producing the monthly management accounts. Deliver on allocated projects. Mentor and assess performance of staff, and be able to influence, negotiate and work well within a team environment.

Our client, the leasing division of a well-established Bank, are creating a new role with the individual to act as a dedicated resource in the reporting of the performance of their asset finance portfolio. Reporting into their Group Finance, in preparing management and statutory information for the Asset Finance Board. Lead the execution of accurate and timely completion of the month end processes. Take ownership of the general ledger, ensuring all journals posted are accurate and contain strong supporting documentation. Prepare monthly analytical reviews and prepare month end financial reports. Monitor the daily bank reconciliations, working with the business to ensure unreconciled items are investigated and cleared. Liaise with the Business to deliver annual forecasts. Prepare monthly analytical reviews on actual performance against forecasts, presenting to the Board at quarterly meetings. Assist the business with financial analysis and support the Group’s external audit. Liaise with and assist the business with developing new products, enhancing existing and the development of new systems. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) very much preferred, but may consider those not qualified but offering considerable lease accounting experience.

Review and report performance against budget plans and forecasts, making recommendations to ensure performance is enhanced and KPI’s are met. Must have the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex and technical issues. Undertake pricing and evaluation of leasing opportunities, and critically advise on contract settlements, rate calculations and structuring of transactions in support of business opportunities. Contribute to the decision making. Experience working within a complex/international organisation preferred.
